Pulse 5 piece drum set Reviews 2

I bought it at Musician's Friend for $300.00.

The shells were half decent.

The hardware was the worst kind I've ever had the displeasure to use. They should be ashamed of the quality of everything. Obviously the people who gave it good reviews have never tried out a real drumset like a Pearl Export Select.

Horrific as I said before.

If you are serious about drumming don't waste your money on this set and get a Pearl.

I paid about $300 for this at Musician's Friend. It was the best deal on a beginner's set I could find. I've never played drums and I'm on a tight budget, so there ya go.

It suits what I need. I only play with it for my own benefit so it is a good set to practice with and bang around on. Mine is silver so it looks neat.

ok, this might take awhile. It took hours for me to put the thing together b/c the instructions were extremely unclear. When I did finally put it together I realized one of the pieces on my snare stand was broken so I had to get a whole new stand. That same piece broke again a few months later. After I played it for about a month the heads were marked up like I'd been playing it for a few years. The hi-hats sound like I'm banging on trash cans sometimes, and the other cymbals arent too nice either. I also tried to adjust my snare at one point. Bad idea. Now it buzzes ALL the time and it makes everything sound TERRIBLE, and I can't figure out a way to fix it.

Like I mentioned, the snare stand sucks. The heads are like paper, and I'm surprised I haven't broken them yet. The toms are mounted on the bass drum, and I don't like this because they tend to hit on the top of the bass drum sometimes. Basically it is constructed poorly, especially the cymbals.

If all you want to do is practice and bang around on something for awhile, this is a good set. If you want something that can you can play with that is durable and sounds halfway decent, you can find something better much than this that will end up costing you less in the long run.

I bought this drum set about a year and a half ago from musiciansfriend.com for $300.

When I bought the drums I had trouble tuning the drums but after I got some remos the drums sound great. With the right heads the drums are great sounding. If you are thinking of buying the set do it! It's not expensive and they are good.

The cymbals and the heads that came with the drums sucked but they worked until I got some zildjians.

I think the set is well put together. I got my set before the switched to rim mounting the toms that allows me to do more with teh set up of my set. The only problem with the construction of teh set is the stands that came with the set weren't to strong but I've added a few things like an extra pearl tom and some better stands.

If you want a good set and don't want to spend a lot of money buy this set. You can check out mine at http://www.kornhead.net/webmasters/alex/drums.htm
